Im not exactly sure what the weight is, or the actual caliber of the perpetrator outside of the sabot, but those things are pretty small vs the standard projectile, and are moving at a pretty respectable clip. Those are some pretty awesome rounds to watch go down range.

Oct 23, 2017 · 50 cal BMG bullet is .510. So it is going to need a plastic sabot or maybe a lot of paper patch to generate enough pressure to make it go. And it probably will go neither fast nor straight. So my answer is basically no. At least in terms of performing any task with it. Shooting it in a sabot in a muzzleloader seems a better fictional option to me.

Muzzleloader Loads for Moose?
I used a CVA 50 cal optimua, I used 150grains of powder and I used Hornady's SST high speed low drag 250 grain sabot. With this combination I was able to fill my tag with one shot at a 3yr old at 148yards. I would never hesitate to use a muzzle loader to drop a moose. Shot placement is key with any gun/ammo you use.
